Polymaker™ PC-PBT is a polymer blend which offers good heat resistance, however, its key feature is toughness at low temperatures (-30˚C) where other plastics would become brittle. PC-PBT also features good chemical resistance and its characteristics make it ideal for automotive exterior parts such as bumpers, roof rail brackets or door handles.

PC er Polycarbonate og PBT er Polybutylene terephthalate.

This Specialty family provides unique filaments from Polymaker to unlock new 3D printing applications. The Industrial range of products provide engineering grade materials to unlock the use of 3D printing in multiple industries for new applications. Industrial products can require specific equipment and skills.

Polymaker™ PC-PBT is resistant to hydrocarbons, alcohols, organic acids, inorganic aqueous salts, and dilute base and acid solutions. This makes them suitable for applications requiring resistance to intermittent contact with many lubricants, solvents, fuels, oils, cleaning agents, and other automotive-type chemicals.

Polymaker™ PC-PBT is not resistant to strong alkalis or chlorinated, aromatic, ketone- or ester-containing solvents. Additional influence parameters of the chemical resistance properties of material are the: - Composition of the surrounding media - Temperature - Duration of exposure It is essential to test them under actual operating conditions first.

Polymaker™ PC-PBT has a high resistance to impact. It also features an excellent low temperature toughness keeping more than 70% of its impact resistance at -30˚C.

Recommended Settings

  • Nozzle Temperature: 260˚C – 280˚C
  • Printing Speed: 30 – 50mm/s
  • Bed Temperature: 100˚C – 115˚C
  • Chamber Temperature: 100˚C – 110˚C
  • Bed Surface: almost any surface with a thin coat of MAGIGOO PC
  • Cooling Fan: OFF

Note: When printing with Polymaker™ PC-PBT it is recommended to use a heated chamber. It is recommended to anneal the printed part right after the printing process to release the residual internal stress when not using a heated chamber. Annealing settings: 90˚C for 2h

Ef notast á við stuðningsefni er mælt með PolyDissolve™ S2

We recommend a full metal hot end that can maintain a stable temperature of at least 260˚C . We also recommend to use a heated chamber capable of reaching at least 80˚C
