ABS er öflugt efni sem er með gott höggþol, styrk, sveigju og ágætis hitaþol.
Það kemur lykt þegar það er prentað og er æskilegt að hafa prentarann lokaðan og helst geta loftað gufur burt frá prentaranum.
Það hefur reynst mörgum vel að hita prentklefann í 30-60mín áður en prent er sett af stað. Það er gert með því að setja hitaplötuna í 100°C og láta hitann í prentklefanum rísa.
